The Illuminations project in progress. On the wall is the working mock-up. On the table are a little over 30 polished alabaster panels cut from large alabaster slabs. I spent about two months scraping currency to get the collected dust in the tubes and bags on the table. I’m almost set up to begin inking the panels. Each panel is also treated with a solution of 5% Paraloid B-72 and 95% Acetone. The Paraloid solution soaks into the stone and the acetone evaporates leaving the Paraloid which will increase the strength of the stone and help prevent chips, breaks, and cracks from spreading.
