Slicing Spruce and a Horse project interrupted

Such a long board to cut. Above is a photo of the resulting 1/8″ and 3/16″ spruce slices for Extinction Burst.  They are cut to test the strength of the grid and problem solve them as containers for the currency sleeves. The horse drawing below is something begun before the “illuminations” commission and previously appeared in one of the paintings destroyed in the DHR fire from July 2024. I thought I’d hang it up to see if it had any wall power and what work it might need.   (It needs something) The intent was to make a painting from the drawing.  It is a slightly twisting rearing up horse, based on the horse “Eternal Flame”.  “Flame” was brought to my cousin Elwin Heatherly (in whose barn I worked as a groom). Elwin specialized in training problem horses.  I was totally afraid of this horse, but oh how beautiful he was.  He soon won a Racking Horse World Championship; was sold and then died the following year in a barn fire.
